  • (10:29) My 3 Basic Real Food Principles

    • 1. Drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water.

      • Take whatever you weigh in pounds, divide it in half, and drink that many ounces of water per day.

      • Your body is 60% needs pure, clean water flowing through to work right!

    • 2. Change out your oil.

      • Ditch these toxic, inflammatory oils: corn oil, grapeseed oil, canola oil, safflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oii, peanut oil, and more.

        • Check your salad dressings as well- even if the label says “olive oil”, odds are one of the above oils is also present.

        • Lots of packaged foods will have these as well!

        • Almost every single restaurant will be using these because they are cheap- control your oils at home so you’re getting the good stuff most of the time!

      • The best fats to use include real, grass-fed butter, olive oil, avocado oil, and coconut oil.

    • Side Note: Weight gain is your body’s way of protecting you!! Toxins will make you hold onto weight. Why? Because your body will store toxins in fat to prevent them from reaching the vital organs.

    • 3. Give up wheat.

      • If you have any inflammatory health issue, giving up wheat for a trial period can be very helpful.

        • 2 weeks minimum to eliminate it

        • 4-6 weeks is optimal for an elimination period

      • Major “G things” that we have to think about when it comes to wheat

        • Gluten: Hard on the body to process, can cause leaky gut.

        • Gliadin: Food-based opioid which is what makes wheat feel so addictive! It also stimulates appetite.

        • Glyphosate: A toxic pesticide that’s a major component of “Roundup”. Glyphosate residue is found in wheat products.

      • There’s a reason there’s a whole book called “Wheat Belly” 😉

  • (23:39) Just by using these 3 basic principles, I saw a huge difference in my health! Get these down first and then you can move on to the more specific stuff.
