My Favorite Multivitamin
The importance of micronutrients
We hear a lot about balancing the three macronutrients (protein, fats, and carbohydrates). Wanna know what’s even MORE important?
Your MICROnutrient balance.
Micronutrients are the vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial compounds (like antioxidants and carotenoids) that we get from our protein, fats and carbs. Think vitamin C, selenium, zinc, Vitamin A, lycopene, lutein and all of the other wonderful nutrients that come packaged in Real Food, the Way God Made It.
You can balance your macros all day long, but if you’re eating a nutrient-devoid diet, you will never achieve optimal health.
Your liver needs B vitamins, your thyroid needs iodine and selenium, your immune system needs zinc. I could go on, but I think you get the picture… 😉
If you don’t have micronutrients, you will have illness and disease.
How can we get the micronutrients our bodies crave?
When you seek the foods of God’s kingdom first, energy, vitality, strength, mental clarity, a healthy weight, and better moods will naturally follow!
The Creator of our bodies also created the perfect foods for our bodies. Foods from nature are full of micronutrients that work synergistically with one another. Certain vitamins and minerals need each other to work well. Some compete with one another and block absorption. God is the Master Formulator and packaged them just perfectly for our bodies to use efficiently. This is one reason why conventional multivitamins often just don’t work.
MY FAVORITE SUPPLEMENTS TO SUPPORT MICRONUTRIENT BALANCE
Micronutrient deficiency is a huge problem in our society. As mentioned above, it’s always best to first focus on eating Real Food, the Way God Made It. With that said, we live in a world where our soils are depleted and the foods we eat are naturally much lower in nutrients than what our ancestors consumed on a daily basis. So our bodies might need a little extra support.
But beware! You don’t want to get your micronutrients from processed junk foods with synthetic vitamins added in or even junky over-the-counter multivitamins. Many over-the-counter multivitamins contain fillers and artificial colors, and are in forms our bodies do not recognize and are unable to use.
These are my personal favorite multivitamins- all real-food based, effective, and absorbable!
#1. Nutreince by Calton Nutrition
The Caltons have done a TON of research into micronutrients and have found deficiency is a missing link for many people in their health journey. This research article links micronutrient deficiency to obesity due to its effect on the body’s metabolic processes. If you want to learn more about the overall benefits of micronutrients, I would highly suggest their book, The Micronutrient Miracle.
Nutreince is their multivitamin supplement that I trust because it has been formulated to be extremely absorbable and effective, with none of the toxic artificial flavors or colors or ineffective synthetic vitamins or minerals. It is a great broad-spectrum support for those looking to support their overall health. It comes in powder packs that must be mixed with water- which actually improves efficacy. You drink one in the morning and one at night - they are specifically formulated to work synergistically and at the best time of the day. Some people find the powder packs inconvenient and prefer a swallowable capsule (they are working on it!). Others like having a way to make their daily water consumption more exciting by picking their favorite flavor pack. If you don’t mind the powder packs, these are my favorites.
#2. Seeking Health Multivitamins
Dr. Ben Lynch is another strong supporter of the need for micronutrients. His passion is promoting health of children with a strong start to life- that includes micronutrient sufficiency- so he has formulations for all ages and stages.

#3. Garden of Life Vitamin Code for Women
This Garden of Life vitamin is a great option that you can often find in your grocery or health food store. You can also purchase it on Amazon too through this link. This form is raw with ample enzymes for ultimate absorption and assimilation of nutrients. An easy and convenient way to ensure your cells get the micronutrients they crave!
Thanks so much for reading!
