148: Covid Prep Pack

I didn’t do anything to artificially lower my fever when I recently had Covid. Unless a fever gets dangerously high, it’s best to let it do its thing. Fever is our body’s natural immune response to help kill infection. Even though fever is inconvenient and doesn’t feel great, it serves a purpose. Our perception is that it’s something we “get” as a result of being sick instead of looking at it as a tool our body uses to help us get well.

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said, “Give me a fever, and I can cure any disease.”

In her book Gut and Physiology syndrome, Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride says,

“Fever is good for us. It is a major tool our immune system uses for killing disease-causing microbes, destroying toxins and removing cancer cells. If you have a fever for a few days and do not interfere with it, you clean your body, remove chronic infections, prevent cancer formation and rejuvenate yourself. During fever your immune system re-sets itself, re-balances its various branches, re-groups and becomes more effective at dealing with the environment. It is particularly vital to allow fever to run in our babies and small children. Children are born with immature immune systems, which require education. The first fever your child develops is a major educational experience for the child’s immune system. If the fever is not allowed to run, the child’s immune system has missed an important lesson. Instead, it has received a wrong lesson, which may lay the ground for allergies and autoimmunity in the future.”
In this week’s podcast episode, I’m talking about this and other approaches I took when I recently got Covid. Come listen!

EPISODE 148: Covid Prep Pack

Show Notes

(0:00) Intro

  • This Omicron variant is ripping through the country like wildfire

    • It seems to be short-lived and fairly mild as far as Covid variants go. It’s just very contagious.

    • It is the most mutated variant thus far with 26 unique spike proteins.

      • Spike proteins are like these bumpy protrusions on the surface of the virus particle.

      • Spike proteins latch the virus onto your cells allowing them to get entry into your cells.

  • Alpha only has 4 spike protein mutations

  • Beta only has 6 spike proteins

  • Gamma only has 8 spike proteins; the most lethal variant

  • Delta has 8 and is highly contagious

  • Omicron wins with 26 unique spike protein mutations

(6:04) Fevers:

  • Unless a fever gets dangerously high, I just like to let it do its thing. It’s our body’s natural immune response to kind of cook out the infection - heat it up and kill it. And so even though the fever is inconvenient and doesn’t feel great, it serves a purpose.

  • Hippocrates - who is considered the father of medicine, he was a physician in 300 B.C. said, Give me a fever, and I can cure any disease.

  • In Dr Natasha Campbell McBride’s latest book Gut and Physiology Syndrome Dr McBride several times mentions the importance of fever.

  • In fact she has a section titled  - Bless the Fever and says,

“Fever is good for us. It is a major tool our immune system uses for killing disease-causing microbes, destroying toxins and removing cancer cells. If you have a fever for a few days and do not interfere with it, you clean your body, remove chronic infections, prevent cancer formation and rejuvenate yourself. During fever your immune system re-sets itself, re-balances its various branches, re-groups and becomes more effective at dealing with the environment.” She also goes on to say, “It is particularly vital to allow fever to run in our babies and small children.

  • I did use my little Just Relax Boo cold pack on my head which felt so good.

  • I did sit out in the sun on purpose while I was sick. We had some unseasonably warm weather in Texas - just absolutely beautiful weather - and so I got some midday sun on my front and back sides for a natural Vit D and mitochondrial boost.

  • Had it not been so nice and sunny outside, I would have used my Joovv light - my red and infrared light therapy. It doesn’t give you Vit D but does give you an immune boost.

  • A really hot epsom salt bath is good for breaking a sweat to help force out toxins, the epsom salt gives you a dose of transdermal magnesium, it’s relaxing. I love that my kids know that epsom salts baths are a go-to when they don’t feel well.

  • Other than those things, we loaded up on supplements.

(12:25) #1. Liver Pills

  • Nature’s multivitamin.

  • I actually have some different multi-organ blends - not just liver - that we used from a company called Heart and Soil.

  • We have the Histamine and Immune blend which includes liver, spleen, kidney, lung and thymus.

  • And we have the Life Blood supplement which is really targeted for cardiovascular health it has liver, spleen and blood extract which boosts red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, has riboflavin, b12, folate, choline, copper, biotin, coQ10, the fat soluble vitamins.

(14:25) #2. Vitamin D

  • We also did up our Vitamin D. I have the Bio-D-Mulsion Forte drops on hand which  has 2000 IU per drop and is really easy to increase dosage, you just add drops in your mouth and  so that’s what we used.

(14:55) #3. Zinc

  • We added the Organic Olivia ZincPlus which has the quercetin with it to help get the zinc into the cell more efficiently. Zinc is known for its anti-inflammatory effect and antiviral properties. So that’s a good one to have.

(15:20) #4. NAC

  • Next we used N-Aceytl Cysteine or NAC for short.

  • NAC is An amino acid precursor to glutathione, the body’s “master” antioxidant,  and i t supports upper respiratory system health.

  • NAC supplements can also be used as an expectorant to help improve air passageways by loosening the accumulation of mucus that can cause congestion. So, it can still be hard to find.

  • There are still some options on Fullscript, that is my online supplement dispensary that I use for clients and if you have my Master Wellness and Supplement list that you can get from my website, the information about Fullscript and all of this is on there.

(16:42) #5. Vitamin C

  • What I didn’t have on hand because we’d run out and I wanted to kick myself - was Vitamin C. That would have been helpful. Vitamin Code Raw Vitamin C or Pure Radiance C are good ones.

(17:10) #6. Nasal and Throat Sprays

  • Nose and throat spray scan help reduce replication and viral load. So, yes of course wash your hands.

  • I had ordered a 3-pack of XLear nose spray xylitol and grapefruit seed extract which has antiviral properties.

  • I only had a little bit of my Beekeepers natural propolis throat spray - so we used what little of that I had left but I did have some Biocidin throat spray  which doesn’t taste near as good  but has a powerful blend of extracts like bilberry, milk thistle, echinacea, golden seal, shitake, black walnut, oregano oil. So, again, glad I had that and we used that as well.

  • I also did hear Dr McCullough say to not wear a mask when its not necessary so you’re not constantly recycling that viral load.  And to be sure and get outside for fresh air.

(21:17) Extras:

  • A few other things we took because we take regularly anyway are the CT mineral drops from Cellcore. Just really good quality mineral drops with humic and fulvic acids to better get what you need into the cell.

  • ViRadChem binder from Cellcore, which stands for Virus, Radiation and Chemicals - it’s a binder specifically formulated for those things to help bind up and take out of the body more efficiently. Again you can find all of that information on my Master Wellness and Supplement List.

  • We also drank  a lot of electrolytes. I keep the LMNT and Ultima packets on hand. So we mixed those with water and that was good.

  • I also diffused the Immunity blend from Revive oils which is very much like Thieves from Young Living. I like the Revive oils and Young Living and Doterra.

(24:15) Closing thoughts:

  • I added a section in my Master Wellness and Supplement Guide called Covid Prep Pack where these are all listed out for you.

  • Ben Greenfield podcast with Dr Peter McCullough

  • Dr. McCullough’s protocol

  • I hope this helps and that you’re not caught unawares if you get Covid. Really this stuff is good to have on hand regardless. It’s good broad spectrum immune support.

  • My prayer is that we stay healthy and empower our immune system to work well, work the way God designed it. He made our immune system so smart; It is always working on our behalf to fight off pathogens and keep us safe. We can do so much to boost the functionality of our immune systems with food, better lifestyle practices and targeted supplements.
