Deuterium is known as “heavy hydrogen” because it is twice as heavy as ordinary hydrogen. It is found in higher amounts in carbohydrates than proteins and fats. An excess of deuterium in the body disrupts metabolic processes which can contribute to weight gain, cancer and chronic diseases.
