He loves Jesus (his life radically transformed in his 20’s when he came to know Christ)

He combines science and spirituality to present the most comprehensive approach to essential oils on the market.

Does trying to get your family or friends to eat healthier make you crazy because they don’t listen? Join the club, friend.
You might think it’s all liver and kale chips at my house, but you couldn’t be further from the truth.
The TRUTH is that my kids don’t want to eat vegetables any more than yours do.
The TRUTH is that I’m struggling with the loss of control as my kids become teenagers and make their own choices (and not good ones 😫)
The TRUTH is that sometimes I worry I’m leading my kids toward a dysfunctional relationship with food by being “that” mom - and a nutritionist one at that!
I’m laying it all out there in this week’s podcast and talking about the two best things to focus on when it comes to influencing your family’s health.

125: Five Problems with Counting Calories for Weight Loss
Hormones
Gut Bacteria
Sleep
Stress
Breath
Calorie counting has been the primary recommendation for weight management for many years, but if it was as simple as calories in / calories out, there wouldn’t be such an obesity epidemic. There are other factors to take into account, such as the way insulin blocks calories from “getting out,” or the way stress can lead to increased belly fat.
Calorie counting can be helpful, but it’s not everything. There’s so much more to consider and we’re talking about it in this week’s podcast!

124: Functional Exercise in The Bible
Walking is often overlooked and under-appreciated as effective exercise but it's one of the most impactful forms of fitness and one of the primary ways our ancestors stayed healthy.
As a society we sit way too much and it’s putting us at a significantly increased risk for illness and disease. In fact, sitting has been called “the new smoking” but, as we are unlikely to get warning labels on chairs, we’d better be our own advocates and remind ourselves to get up and move often.
Make 10,000 daily steps your minimum baseline and not your top-end goal. The more steps you take, the more strength you build, the more you fortify your Holy Temple to do the Kingdom work you are called to do. Our highest health goal is to be an excellent vessel for the Holy Spirit. Walk with Christ and bring more people back to HIm.
Listen to this week’s podcast for more of God’s Word and straight talk on Functional Fitness.

123: The Genesis Prescription for Sleep
We may think of night as the time our body shuts down but, in fact, it is the time when our body comes alive to do some of its most important work. While we’re sleeping our bodies detoxify, repair and reset but if we don’t get a minimum of seven hours at night - we miss out on these critical processes. Over time, this causes health problems and weight gain. You can eat the cleanest food and exercise every day, but you’ll keep spinning your wheels if you don’t honor your body’s sleep requirement.
In this week’s podcast we’re talking about how God designed our body with the need for sleep and alignment with circadian rhythm.

122: The Breath of Health and Fat Loss
The most efficient breathing rhythm is 5.5 second inhales followed by 5.5 second exhales through your nose. Overbreathing or breathing through your mouth causes major metabolic and overall health problems.
Breathing too much and too fast are the breaths of stress and fear. And you know God didn’t give us the spirit of fear! On top of that, chronic mouthbreathing leads to poor focus and mood, weight gain, periodontal disease, sleep apnea and many more health issues. We are meant to breathe through our noses. After all - God DID breathe life into man through the nostrils.
Listen to this week’s podcast to learn how breathing efficiently is one of the foundational pillars of good health and metabolism.
