My Favorite Coffee Things

I’ve switched my coffee game up here recently and thought I’d share the deliciousness of what’s going on in my cup! ☕️

1. Electric Kettle and Drip Cup Filter

Everybody is getting fancy coffee machines and I’m going old school. My husband and I recently started using an electric kettle and a filter cup and making one cup at a time. Why? Well, my hubs had it at a friend’s house this way and said it made a much better cup of coffee. I agree. I was resistant at first because I thought it would take too long, but the water heats up lickety-split and the coffee drip takes no time at all. It became our new norm after just a few days. We typically use Cafe Altura because that’s the organic coffee I can find at my grocery store. One thing that never changes is that I drink organic coffee. Coffee is one of the most pesticide laden crops and so, if it’s something you drink every single day, it’s an important one to upgrade to organic!

Click here to find the electric kettle and here to find the drip cup filter. (I’ve also seen these drip filters in the grocery store!)

2. Organo King Coffee

This new routine helped open the door for me to try this mushroom coffee I’ve been hearing a lot about. It’s instant and comes in a packet and my inner coffee snob was like - Instant? No way! But the hype got the better of me and, since I was already using the electric kettle and had the hot water ready to go, thought I would pour the packet in the cup and give it a try.

The reason it gets so much hype is because it’s made with Reishi mushroom (ganoderma) which has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Studies show that it boosts immune function, fights cancer, lowers inflammation and reduces anxiety and depression. I’ve been observing other practitioners use it successfully with clients to improve thyroid, skin, fatigue and hormonal conditions and so I just had to try it.

I’ve had mushroom coffee before, but it wasn’t this powerful or this tasty. The King Coffee is made with spore powder which makes it highly assimilable and effective in the body. The company uses a more natural method of growing and harvesting their mushrooms (they sprout them from maple logs instead of growing them in plastic bags) and has a patented process for utilizing the spore powder in the coffee mix.

I love the way I feel when I drink the King Coffee.  The best way I can describe it is “chill energy.” It makes me feel both energetic and relaxed all at the same time. I’m also very interested in it’s immune boosting properties with Covid and flu season around us. As of now I’m drinking it more than the drip coffee, but once we’re past cold and flu season, I’ll probably alternate more between the two. You can check out the King Coffee here.

3. Aroy-D Coconut Milk

This has been my creamer of choice for YEARS and I’ve made many converts who now love it too. It’s cleaner and much creamier than what you will find in grocery stores. A little splash is all I need because it’s so thick and rich. I buy this one.

4. Milk Frother

I got sucked into some IG stories with people using this milk frother. I was jonesing for a DIY pumpkin latte and so I bought this to try. I used the Califia Farms dairy-free pumpkin spice half-and-half and it, indeed, it made a delightful latte.

I don’t use it with my Aroy-D coconut milk because it takes too much milk to froth and I don’t want to use that much on a daily basis. But I will definitely keep this for special flavored frothy days. You can find it here on Amazon.

5. Peppermint Latte Essential Oil & Copaiba and Coffee

These don’t go in my coffee but I sure love to diffuse them. The Peppermint Latte smells like mint chocolate chip ice cream.  The Copaiba and Coffee is stronger but I also like to apply it to my temples or back of my neck. Apparently it’s helpful as a cellulite buster but haven’t tried that yet!  Check out these oils here.

Hope this inspires you to try something new! Let me know if you do!
