5 Things I’m Sending With My Son To College
In a few weeks I’m moving my first born to college 😭. As we start preparing to move him into the dorm, there are some things beyond the standard laundry bag and towels that I want him to take. I thought I would share a few of the less conventional things on this list (cue weird mom alert. 🚨)
Post Cruise Detox
I’ve been on two cruises in my life - one through the British Virgin Islands and the one I just finished through Alaska. Both were incredible. Although completely different experiences, I think a very common experience for many people coming off a cruise is feeling overstuffed, underslept and generally kind of blech. This can be true of just about any vacation. It’s not uncommon to “need a vacation after your vacation” and have the strong urge to diet or detox when you get home. Even though I keep it fairly reined in when I go on vacation, I definitely indulge more, sleep less and am exposed to lots more toxins no matter how mindful I am. I always feel the need to recalibrate and get back on track - as I do now coming off 11 days in Alaska. I thought I would share some of my cruise prep and my post-cruise detox in case you find yourself in this kind of situation.
Christmas Crack
This is one of my family's most favorite Christmas treats. 🎁 I only make it at this time of the year because it's deliciously addictive. Consider yourself warned! It makes a great gift all wrapped up in a pretty Christmas tin. This recipe is one I've been asked to share over and over. Enjoy!
2023 Holiday Gift Guide
It’s the time of the year that I get to share about some of my favorite things: things I’ve loved, things I’ve used, old things, new things, brands I’ve been using for a long time, new brands I’ve discovered and things that I’m putting on MY list. It also gives me a chance to educate you health topics like gluten, light, EMFs and the benefits of castor oil. I hope you get some great ideas and learn something along the way!

Fit, Content & Abundant
Hello my friend! The other day, I stumbled upon a phrase that resonated deeply: "fit, content, and abundant." This aptly described how I desired to feel and be. It also brought to mind various Biblical verses. Today, I want to share my revelations on how these words can impact your life in light of God's word.
Loaves and Buns
The recent bread workshop we did in The Christian Health Club inspired me to branch out with my bread making. I’ve always milled my grain, dumped all of the ingredients in the bread machine, and set-it-and-forget-it until I have a beautiful 2-pound loaf of bread ready 3 hours later. It’s so simple.
But, Kerri showed us other fun options of what we can do with the dough. Come check it out! 🍞
Tex-Mex Breakfast Casserole
🍳 This Tex-Mex breakfast casserole is bold and flavorful, and provides 25 grams of protein per serving!
A high protein breakfast is important for maintaining a healthy weight, building muscle mass, regulating blood sugar levels, boosting metabolism, and improving brain function.
Give it a try and let me know how you like it in the comments below! 👇🏼🤠
How To Reduce Your Toxic Load
Most people don’t realize how modern toxins interfere with our hormones and promote fat accumulation. Toxins are everywhere - in your food, in your skincare products, in your home cleaning supplies, in your candles, in your plastic water bottles, etc. These are things our Bible Sisters didn’t have to deal with and one reason we need more hormonal support these days. Check out these tips on how to reduce your toxic load.
Baked Apple Crisp
🍎 This is my go to recipe when apples start going soft and nobody wants to eat them. We’re crispy apple snobs at my house 😆 but I can’t bear to see them wasted. Check out this easy apple crisp and let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

How God Makes Food
Despite a world full of conflicting and confusing dietary advice, the matter of what to eat is really very simple. God gave us plant foods and He gave us animal foods. The food He gave us is the food we are meant to eat. The Creator of our bodies made the perfect food for our bodies and He tells us exactly what that is. God is our Master Nutritionist and His Word is our dietary compass.
High Protein Egg Casserole
🍳👩🍳 My whole family enjoys this breakfast sausage egg casserole and it's a healthy make-ahead meal for those busy school mornings.
Quarterly Detoxes
At the beginning of each new season in The Christian Health Club, we practice a 3-day detox that removes all meat, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts/seeds, grains, sugar and alcohol. Essentially this leaves you with vegetables, fruit and plant fats like avocados, olives and coconut. As much as I praise animal sourced foods and protein as a critical part of the diet, I recognize that periodically cycling them out is a healthy practice for the body.
Why Low Carb Works So Well
You may have heard that a low carb diet can help you lose weight and feel great but do you know why?
