38: Expecting Signs from God

Ep 38.png

What if you expected God’s answer to arrive as assuredly as your Amazon packages? What if you freaked out about Jesus coming as much as Buddy the Elf freaks out when Santa comes? Expectation is the fuel behind faith and belief. When we expect something, we look for it! We get ready! In this episode we are getting amped up over the way God shows up in our lives.

EPISODE 38: Expecting Signs from God

SHOW NOTES

(0:00) Intro

(0:44) Kicking off the month of December with excitement and expectation:

  • Today’s topic: Being in the posture of expectation!

(1:52) Hearing a “No” from God:

  • A “No” is (seemingly) not nearly exciting as a “Yes”, but…

  • A “No” still provides wisdom and clarity.

(2:48) Asking for guidance as The Christian Nutritionist:

  • Feeling called to spread the word of Real Food the way God made it.

    • When we feel well we serve well.

    • Asking God for a very clear sign in a specific time frame.

      • Demanding myself to be listening and aware.

(7:01) Posture of Expectation:

  • The expectation of hearing from God.

  • When you expect something, you look for it, you prepare for it.

    • Full expectation mode

    • There’s fait hand belief in expectation

(9:09) The story of a NO turning into an alternative YES:

  • How and NO can feel open-ended

  • How God blew my socks off…

    • What it means to step out in faith.

(12:30) Expectation of going into Christmas season:

  • Kids and their expectation and arrival of Santa.

    • Buddy the Elf - 'SANTA!!!

    • Can we be a fraction of excited over Jesus?

  • High of expectation for all the best things to come.

  • Gift of the Holy Spirit:

    • Connecting earthly and heavenly realms

    • Expecting to receive

(17:25) You have to believe to receive:

  • This is why we as Christians are called believers

  • Mark 11:24:

    • Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

      • Ask in prayer for God to guide you

      • Asking God for clarity is demonstrating our faith.

(19:03) Asking for wisdom:

  • What King Solomon asked God

  • When we ask we have to believe that the answer is coming.

  • James 1:5-8

    • 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

  • When you ask, you must believe and release doubt.

  • God works through our instincts

(23:22) Ask Him, and be listening:

  • The scripture guides us.

  • Be awake, listening, and aware.

  • Be vigilant in the expectation of hearing from God.

(24:23) Closing thoughts:

  • Thinking more about God in everything we do.

    • It’s Jesus!!! ❤️

  • Moving into December with a big heart.

  • Keep the faith, belief, and open arms to receive.

(26:21) Outro & Disclaimer

Thanks for listening! Have a healthy and blessed week!

XOXO,

Chelsea
